Photo Story

In the year 2004, May, with the intention of introducing the cricket game to the Province of Mantova, Sathis Thiramunige (Sri lankan) acquired a complete hardball set of cricket for a team during a trip to Sri Lanka. The cricket equipment were donated to the cricket club.

Together with Vickramjit Singh (Indian), the “AYUBOWAN MANTUA CRICKET CLUB”, hardball, was founded in August 2004 and registred on the 01st September 2004 with the backing up of the Ayubowan Sri lanka volunteer association.

The name “ayubowan” is a Sanskrit word, it’s meaning is “may you live long”.

The main assistance to make this dream come true was received from the Mayor, town counsil of Goito  Pietro Marcazzan, the Chairman of Sports Ugo Coffani and the vice secretary Davide Savi, we make our extream gratitude to them for giving us a wonderfull cricket ground nominated by them as Rabindranath TAGORE” (premior nobel LITERATURE 1913).

On the 22nd August 2004, the ground was inaugurated in an olimpic style by the mayor and his stuff.

Our fist cricket mach was played with MILAN KINGSGROVE CRICKET CLUB, it was a 35 overs friendly mach.

Our heartfull thanks to all Italians, Indians and Sri lankans who helped us in many ways.
